Data centers make our digital lives possible. As we become more digitized as people and businesses, the need for data and power increases. Data centers need to accommodate this increase with faster construction and delivery times, and handle the density as environments run hotter. Additionally, many areas are experiencing water scarcity and some areas are at crisis levels.
Sustainability has come to the fore as a driver of innovation around data center design, enabling green builds, alternate power sources, carbon tracking, and more efficient cooling that minimizes or removes water usage altogether.
The presentation will focus on: • Keeping water in mind and out of the data center • More efficient cooling and the implications of higher-density requirements • Considerations for scope 3 emissions and overall carbon tracking, starting at the supply chain • Modular design and construction to enable faster, more scalable and sustainable builds • Key considerations for alternate and renewable power options
Phill Lawson-Shanks, Chief Innovation and Technology Officer, from Aligned Data Centers will discuss how sustainability has positively disrupted data center construction and how it yields new opportunities around data center design, supply chain, and renewable power.
Learning Objectives:
Understand how more modular design enables scalable, sustainable and faster builds.
Learn how to future-proof and decarbonize your supply chain.
Understand considerations for renewable / alternate power sources.
