Catie is Director of Projects for Terrapin Bright Green. Since 2008, she is responsible for the strategy and implementation of complex projects with a focus on environmental sustainability, human health and resilience. Her projects range in complexity from community master planning, to hotel guest experience and community resilience innovation, and have included a Biophilic Design framework for Google’s Owner Project Requirements and global Project Guide, the healthy building and passenger experience strategies for Portland PDX airport terminal redevelopment in Oregon, and the LEED administration of the Merdeka 118 tower in Malaysia.
Catie was a co-author of "Nature Inside, A Biophilic Design Guide" (RIBA Publishing, 2020), "14 Patterns of Biophilic Design" (2014) and the award-winning report "The Economics of Biophilia" (2012; 2023), a seminal piece on the direction of the industry and business case for designing with nature in mind. Catie has served as a subject matter expert and advisor to the ILFI's Biophilic Design Initiative, IWBI's WELL Building Standard including the new Health-Equity Rating System, and the US GSA "Workplace Matters" working group. Catie splits her time between Brooklyn and the Philippines.
