Sarah Hammond Creighton has experience directing successful climate action, sustainability programs, teaching environmental students, managing diverse projects, and strategic planning.
Sarah is currently working with a team to develop site specific decarbonization plans and implement decarbonization in new and existing state buildings at MA Division of Capital Asset Management. During her 30 year career Sarah pioneered comprehensive university sustainability programs, advancing progress on climate action, implementing education programs, developing leadership in food service and grounds management, and securing commitments for sustainability at the highest levels of Tufts Uiversity and Endicott College. She is author of "Greening the Ivory Tower" and co-author of "Degrees that Matter, Climate Change and the University" (MIT Press).
As a volunteer, Sarah chaired the Manchester Essex Regional School Building Committee that oversaw all aspects of site selection, project management, budget , contractor oversight, and construction for a new school and athletic facilities. The $49 million school was built on time and on budget and was recognized as a US Department of Education Green Ribbon School for exemplary energy efficiency, solar electricity, and community gardens.
