Michael Smith, a licensed architect and LEED AP BD&C, provides client leadership, practice management and design management in CannonDesign’s Los Angeles office, leading innovative project solutions across multiple markets including healthcare, higher education and civic/ cultural. During his tenure at CannonDesign, he has served as Director of International Business Practices and Executive Director of the West Region; he has also served on the Board of Directors, where he chaired the Ad Hoc Committee for Improving Productivity through Process Change, initiating process improvement across the firm. His completed projects, which span across 14 states and 9 countries, are widely published and have received numerous awards. Michael earned his BA in Architecture from Stanford University and Master of Architecture from Princeton University. In 2022, Michael was inducted into the AIA’s College of Fellows.
