Dr. Fabian is Associate Director at the Institute for Global Sustainability at Boston University (BU), Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Health, and the Boston site PI for the Consortium for Climate Risk in the Urban Northeast (CCRUN). She co-directs a community-engaged research study to build resilience to extreme heat in two environmental justice communities using mixed research methods, and is principal investigator of a systems science project linking housing, indoor air quality, energy consumption, and health data from electronic health records. She led a project in the Center of Excellence on Environmental Health Disparities Research at BU, leveraging fine-scale geospatial data on social determinants of health (SDOH) to understand health disparities related to housing, air pollution, and material hardship in vulnerable communities. She is currently collaborating with Boston Public Schools on an indoor air quality & sustainability project in Boston K-12 schools.
