As an advocate for sustainability and resiliency for the built environment, Linda is focused on the integration of the design process and construction project management to promote collaboration and team building for multiple stakeholders seeking shared goals for energy and water reduction opportunities, safe and healthy materials selections, carbon footprint reduction, and wellness opportunities for building occupants.
Her career is defined by actively pursuing high performance building best practices with evidence-based third-party certifications - Guiding Principles for Sustainable Federal Buildings, Guiding Principles Assessment (GPA), Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), International WELL Building Institute (WELL), International Green Construction Code (IgCC), Green Globes, and Enterprise Green Communities (EGC) - for Federal, State, and privately held projects of all sizes and scope including military installations, office buildings, mixed-use residential, retail, restaurant, and institutional / schools / campus projects. She utilizes a specialized skill set in green building specification editing as well as training design and construction personnel in sustainability practices including materials reduction, procurement, wellness, and resiliency.
Linda has provided LEED and GPA certification reviews for the Green Business Certification Institute (GBCI) and for project-specific scope of work as a sustainability strategist leading to project certifications of all levels.
Mentoring fellow designers and construction personnel focused on improving the built environment, land / resource protection, and the associated human health impacts is a long-term benefit of Linda’s professional and teaching experience. This includes encouraging interactive environments to better manage projects, but also to research new and innovative approaches to identifying problems and finding solutions.
