Barry Abramson has devoted his professional life to improving building energy efficiency and sustainability performance. As Principal of Servidyne, a consulting firm based in Atlanta, Georgia, he has provided energy and sustainability consulting services for 40 years. He served on the ASHRAE committee that wrote ASHRAE Standard 211, Procedures for Commercial Building Energy Audits; and he co-wrote the 2023 Addendum to Standard 211 defining procedures for Building Decarbonization Assessments. He is currently Vice-Chair of the LEED Existing Buildings Consensus Committee and a former Chair of the LEED Energy and Atmosphere Technical Advisory Group. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Barry and his team at Servidyne helped clients assess their building systems to develop risk-mitigation strategies that contribute to the health and wellbeing of building occupants. Barry graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Energy and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer, LEED AP O+M, and ASHRAE Building Energy Assessment Professional.
