Senior Vice Provost for University Interdisciplinary Programs & the William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor
North Carolina State University, Department of Applied Ecology
Rob Dunn is an ecologist who has examined a variety of phenomena throughout his career. As the head of The Public Science Lab at NC State he now studies the life that surrounds us – a world that is utterly familiar and yet almost entirely uncharted – the living communities in our food and on our hands, on our floors and shower heads, under our sinks and door mats, in the basement and the backyard. He is an enthusiastic advocate of citizen science, a teacher and writer.
Rob holds the William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professorship at North Carolina State University in the Department of Applied Ecology and is also the Senior Vice Provost of University Interdisciplinary Programs. He has authored hundreds of articles and five books, including Never Home Alone, about the ever-changing community of insects and microbes that share our homes with us.
