Acting Director for the transition towards a Circular Economy

Sandra Onwijn is acting Director working on the national target of realizing a 100% Circular Economy in the Netherlands by 2050. She mainly works on circularity in the built environment, a better use and reduction of Plastics on a national and European level, the overall contribution of a circular economy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as on closing the loop for textiles. Sandra is an experienced manager on a central public administration level. Before working on a circular economy she worked on a strategic human resources policy plan for the central government, social housing and on a multi-level working method promoting cooperation between cities, the central government and other stakeholders in order to stimulate economic growth, livability and innovation in the Netherlands.
