    Sven Shockey, AIA, LEED BD+C , Design Director at SmithGroup, leads the planning and design of a variety of projects including large-scale mixed-use development master plans, office buildings, educational and laboratory facilities and institutional projects across the United States. Sven approaches each project with a sensitivity to the site, an unlocking of untapped site features paired with architectural interventions that revitalize and define a renewed sense of place. Working with a wide palette of tools including parametric analysis, sustainability strategy, and formal experimentation, Sven takes a fresh approach, yet one that is meaningfully connected and intertwined with each particular site and context. His design leadership has resulted in numerous awards in architecture, historic preservation, sustainability, and planning.
