(SS04) R-Zero Systems Presents: How to Create Healthy, Sustainable Indoor Environments
Wednesday, September 27, 2023

Location: Room 207B

For most organizations, reducing the risk of disease transmission in their buildings was never a top priority (or, for many, even a consideration) until the Covid-19 pandemic. However, with the EPA’s Clean Air in Buildings challenge and ASHRAE’s commitment to advancing a national indoor air quality pathogen mitigation standard, it has been widely recognized that more needs to be done to create healthy indoor environments for people to thrive. However, when leveraging traditional ventilation and filtration strategies to reduce indoor viral risk exposure, it is not unusual to see a 20-40% increase in energy usage and GHG emissions.
Learning Objectives:
Learn evidence-based recommendations for improving IAQ in line with the EPA’s recommendation and ASHRAE’s new standard.
Understand ACH (acceptable measure of ventilation) and eACH (equivalent ventilation) and how they can be used to compare disinfection solutions.
Know what UVGI, especially upper-room (UR)-UVGI is and understand its potential for energy savings and GHG reduction when used to reduce microbial contamination.
Learn strategies for leveraging data across real estate & facility portfolios to ensure indoor spaces are healthy, sustainable, and profitable.
